What can I expect?

I love to plan. In fact, planning for me is more fun than doing.  I think I would be great at planning parties, and then passing the plans off to someone else to do the work.

I love planning menus (at least a month at a time), but have the same 10 meals over and over.

I love planning school curriculum (think homeschooling), but find the day to day actual doing the stuff I plan not as rewarding.

SO I have mapped out this whole year---yep you heard it right.

I sat down and figured out something I could write about EVERY DAY for the next year.

Of course I won't stick to that plan, but at least I have it ready in case I have a brain freeze and can't figure out what to write.

BUT I do have a guideline I am going to try to follow.

Mondays: This is a day I have always felt motivated to get stuff done in my house. I struggle greatly with my housekeeping skills so Mondays will be focused on House Stuff (can you see how glamours my life is already?)  Mondays will be called "Clean Up Monday"

Tuesday:  I have lots of opinions, but I am always willing to listen to different points of views and to learn--so I have dubbed these posts as "Thinking Tuesday's".

Wednesday: What good homemaker doesn't have a room full of half done crafts?  I hope that I am alone in this problem of never completing projects, so maybe if I dedicate Wednesday's to my crafts and such I will accomplish something--so welcome to "Crafty Wednesday".

Thursday: Like I have stated before, I have no problems sharing personal information about myself.  I try not share information about others--but it does happen at times, but I try to keep it all positive.  So Thursday's will be "Personal Thursday'.

Friday: We are lucky to have Friday's off of school.  I am going to try to have more fun with my family --so "Friday Fun" should hopefully spark that desire each week to do something fun!

Saturday: These are often the busiest and laziest days for me depending on what we have going on.  I am going to just label "Hit and Miss Saturday" because I don't know if I will be able to post every Saturday or not.

Sunday:  Obviously, this day will be focused on church-y things.  I am a Christian and one thing I love about being a Christian is the fellow-shipping we do to strengthen each other, so these days I hope to strengthen you! "Sunday Reverent Ramblings"

I am working against some obstacles.  When I decided to do this I had a fully functioning lap top that I could work at where I needed, but thanks to Monster and a small cup of water I no longer have the letters t y u i o p available to me.  It is very difficult to write with out those letters.  So I will have to use the family computer, which hopefully shouldn't be a big deal.

Happy New Year

It is 2016 and I still don't feel like I have my act together.

Every year I write resolutions, the sad thing is, they are the same resolutions over and over and over.

Seriously, I look at my goals from 2005 and they are pretty much the same as 2016.

Do you ever do that?

Well, one of my desires for this year is to be consistent in my blogging.

I have that little nagging voice in my head telling me not to...
No one but your mom and sister will read it.
You don't even have a camera right now to post great pictures.
You have never been consistent with a blog before.
Why put so much personal information out there.
You haven't designed a blog in years--you don't even have this one set up cute.

But even with all those nagging at me, I am ok with it.

Why do I do it?

I feel that sharing with others helps people not feel so alone. I might be able to help someone else out because of my experiences.

I like to share.  I am pretty open about my thoughts, feelings, and I do write a lot more about my emotions than I show them.

I have no camera right now (Monster may have throw it away in his 1 year old cuteness), but I hope to work with that.  I am not very good at photo's anyway...and I would like to work on that too!

Even if my mom and sister are the only two reading it, I am ok with that.  I have to say I HOPE that I get a million followers and I can pay my house off with the money I make as a professional blogger, but I have a feeling I will never make that leap (but it COULD happen).

I use to be pretty savvy about decorating webpages, but I am out of practice and can't even remember how to start.  Hopefully it will all come back to me.

So welcome to my adventure.

Just for the year

Ever turn around and a whole year has passed?

Happens all the time on my blogs!  I have started so many blogs, moved to different blogs, and lost the password to more blogs.  Most people are great at moving from point A to point B, but I feel like I have to skip B (or get lost) and hit most of the other letters before coming back and landing on point B!

SO a goal I have this year so to be consistent.  In fact Consistency is one of my focus words-but I will get to that later.

Every journal/diary I have ever started starts the same way.

Hello,
My name is Amy.  My parents are Doran and Joye.  I have 2 brothers, and 1 sister.  I really hope to write in this journal every day.

and then it skips about a year.

So while the above is still true, I feel the need to add some important facts.

I am married to Superman (he keeps telling me this, and I am slowly believing him).  We have 4 kids, Squirt, Firecracker, Little Man, and Monster.

I have been married 15 years and we live in small town USA in my husbands 'family house' that has been in the family for over 115 years.

and I really do hope to write on this blog (almost) every day this year.

A happy day now June 15th

We have always thought of June 15th as a hard day in our family and now it is a day for celebration!

My brother Jon and his wife Jane welcome their little boy Caleb into this world on June 15th this year.

I feel it is a gift to have a happy memory for this day and that Heavenly Father telling us it is ok to celebrate even through the hard times.

11/27/2014 -- Happy Thanksgiving!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Isn't it amazing how your whole life can change in just a few weeks?

These last three weeks have been life changing.

If I didn't mention my husband much before-it is because he was working out of town.  He would leave Monday morning around 4:00 am and arrive home late on Friday night.

It was strange because since about 2007 he has worked jobs that took him out of town--either as a trucker, a welder, or some other jobs.

In Korea he was with us everyday and with the kids for a lot of hours so to come home and in a matter of a month or so he was gone again.  It was hard to adjust to again.  BUT
his job has ended and he is home with us again. Not only home, but working at his shop which is on our property so he is around again a lot!!   I LOVE IT!

But that also means I have less time to blog-so I will be hit and miss, but I will try to keep it up.

My little Man looks like a wild man in this photo
Playing at Grandma's-waiting for Our Baby to be born

We bought a 'new' car.  It is a 2002 Yukon.  Nice car with lots of space for our growing family!

AND THE BIG NEWS!  A NEW BABY!

Our Baby joined us on November 15th!  He is awesome!  Sleepy, buy awesome.

I will post the birth story in a different post so those squeamish can skip it.

anyway--that is why I have been absent the last few weeks.  We love Our Baby and I think since it is our last I am enjoying him more.  Plus I don't have obligations so it makes it easy to enjoy him more with out my mind going in 20 different directions!

11/6/2014 -- Day 3 -- Things are getting real!

We are getting closer and while I am ready to be done being prego, I am starting to get nervous about labor.  Part of me says to just get the drugs and enjoy it and part of me says to toughen up and experience it for all it is worth.

I just REALLY don't want to go into labor before heading to the Big town and I think that is what I am most nervous about.  Plus I weigh more then I have with the others and last baby was over 9 pounds, so what does that mean about this one? Especially since I (as in everything but my belly), don't look as big as I did with the last one.

My upper belly doesn't hurt at the end of the day like it did with Little Man, so it makes me think that maybe this one isn't as big, but maybe I am in better shape then last time?  Who knows!!

Today was my last DR. appointment here.  It went well.  All is fine and normal.  My Dr. is a little nervous about we waiting to travel so late, but it will all be fine.

I am a little worried just cause I don't want to go into labor while driving, but if I do I will just have to focus and pull over a lot.

I got most of the house picked up so tomorrow we can work on cleaning.  I love that my kids don't have school Fridays--they are very helpful.

I am super tired tonight so this is all I am writing.

11/5/2014 -- Day 4-- another post of not so exciting ramblings

Ever feel like you are constatnly moving, but never going anywhere?  That is me today!  I will be LUCKY if I get one thing on my to do list finished.

I have gone through all the boxes in the silo, but no luck with the nursing cover!  Looks like I will buy a yard of knit fabric tomorrow and make a quick makeshift one :(

Plus I have given up on the idea of moving the boxes from the garage into the silo---not going to happen right now.

The weather is beautiful which I am thankful for cause I couldn't get the chickens their water and had to mess with that and the sprinklers, but then again, if the weather was really bad I wouldn't have to deal with that (except the chickens).  I am just glad I am not in charge of the chickens in the winter!

One stinker of a chicken--whom I would love to get rid of, actually jumped up and pecked an egg I was holding in my hand.  I may or may not have kicked the stupid chicken---But I assume I didn't hurt it because it didn't squawk!

Little Man has been pretty good today.  I think it is because 1.  I played with him for a few minutes  2.  We went outside  3.  Other then stealing some candy I didn't know was in the car he hasn't had sugar today  4.  I have been 100% consistent!  5.  I have prayed for patience!
